About

Unconventional thinking and resourceful collaboration thrive among researchers in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. What are the causes behind Alzheimer’s disease? What if carbon dioxide could be swept from the atmosphere? What if you could virtually see through your customers eyes to know what emotions they feel when looking at your product or website? Our faculty are asking and answering these questions and more.

We are focused on putting knowledge into action through innovative technologies with global impact on improving the quality of individual lives. Our research endeavors are use-inspired, entrepreneurial, educational and collaborative.

With seven schools, more than 350 faculty, and more than 1,000 students engaged in research, we have a broad range of research expertise. Our key strengths and focuses are contained in our five strategic research themes: energy, health, security, sustainability and education.

Centers

Our centers and labs, including three prestigious Engineering Research Centers, are working on collaborative university-industry-government solutions to societal challenges.

University initiatives

We are actively involved in many of ASU’s, enabling our researchers to collaborate freely across diverse disciplines, partner with outside organizations and industries and receive support in pursuing large grants.

Facilities

From cleanrooms and high-bay research facilities to flexible laboratories and collaborative spaces, the Fulton Schools occupy ASU’s best research facilities.
